Dr Daniel Armstrong is not only an amazing and highly skilled surgeon, but his personable approach with his me (patient) is both professional and refreshing.. Dr Armstrong explained the medical interventions and treatment required in order to assist with the healing of my wrist problems.. I felt at total ease in Dr Armstrongs care and would not hesitate should I need to return for any further advise..
Dr Daniel Armstrong has the perfect balance of professionalism and personal communication..

I have just been to see Mr Dan Armstrong one year since I finished my treatment. Last year I faced the prospect of possibly having my thumb amputated. Thanks to the skill and care of Dan that is now a distant memory. After three months of twice weekly treatment at my local hospital I was referred to Mr Armstrong. His timely surgery and care was second to none. His humanity, professionalism and humour are to be admired. He is a great asset to healthcare. I cannot thank him enough. Pulvertaft hand centre must rate as the best in the country.

The advise, consultation and service from Mr Armstrong and the Royal Derby Hospital Hand Unit was second to none.
The appointments were on time with very little additional wait and a special appointment was made for steroid injections in 3 days time and that was completed immediately on the day and it was great.
The approach by Mr Armstrong is excellent and he has a friendly and easy going manner listening to all you say and gives excellent advice and recommendations.
This must make the Hand Unit at Royal Derby Hospital one of the best.
Immediate referral was made for soft splints and the Therapy dept appoint was made available very quickly the same morning. Excellent.

Dr Armstrong put me at ease and explained the procedure step by step thereby putting any fears I had to rest. The whole atmosphere of the treatment room and the staff made the whole episode a pleasure.

I am a Consultant Hand and Wrist Surgeon at the Pulvertaft Hand Centre in Derby. My practice is entirely Hand and Wrist problems and I have a large proportion of tertiary referral work for complex issues. I also have an interest in minimally invasive surgery - endoscopic carpal and cubital tunnel release, Xiapex/Collagenase, Needle Aponeurotomy etc.
I underwent orthopaedic training in the Trent Region, gaining the FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics) exam. I have undertaken specialist training in Derby, Nottingham and Oxford where I was the National Hand Fellow. I have been examined in, and passed, the British Post Graduate hand Diploma.
