Dr Andrew Gaya is a very empathic and caring oncologist.ive always felt safe under his care. Dr Gaya does everything in his power to achieve the very best outcome for you.although he is a health professional, I count him as a dear friend also.I feel guided through my cancer journey,and count myself lucky to have found such a nice doctor. Also not forgetting his wonderful secretary Danielle,always fast to get back to you,and arrange appointments,scans,ect. all round The best care in London.

Profile

Dr Gaya qualified at St George’s (University of London) in 1995 where he was awarded a distinction and several academic prizes. He trained in Clinical Oncology at Imperial College and St Bartholomew’s Hospitals, London and subsequently undertook a Cancer Research UK MD Fellowship at University College London. He was a consultant clinical oncologist at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals for 15 years. He now works exclusively in the private sector.

Dr Gaya treats all gastrointestinal tumours (e.g. oesophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, colon, rectum, anus) using chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, biological therapies, and data from tumour genome profiling. Dr Gaya’s main interests are in the areas of functional cancer imaging (Kings College, London), and combining immunotherapy with radiation treatment.

He is heavily involved with the implementation and usage of the latest radiotherapy techniques such as MRI guided radiotherapy (MRIdian - https://www.genesiscare.com/uk/mrl-hcp/ ), proton therapy and stereotactic body radiosurgery (gamma knife, cyberknife). Dr Gaya is also interested in the introduction of advanced technology such as AI and machine learning to medicine and is a big supporter of Exponential Medicine’s program (https://exponential.singularityu.org/medicine/ ) and the Singularity University programs.

Offering both drug-based and radiation-based therapies and close liaison with surgical and interventional radiology, he is a leading authority on the unique combination of multiple treatment modalities and tumour molecular profiling into a personalised treatment package for each patient.
