Dr Negoescu, in particular, and her clinical colleagues have created an excellent department. I feel privileged and thankful to have been treated by them. Dr Negoescu listens attentively and explains all that she will do, checking my understanding and if I have any questions. She has also respected and considered my concerns and decisions regarding my treatment. I have a quality of life that I never expected to have again and I am appreciative and grateful. Thank you.

I find this doctor does listen to what I have to say, she is very kind and approachable and doesn’t make you feel you are wasting her time like some other consultant have done in the passed.

Dr Negoescu has been really helpful since the start of my care pathway in the Rheumatology dept. I was very frightened by the diagnosis and concerned about how the condition would deteriorate and what the implications for my future might be. Fortunately it hasn't really at all, so I must be one of their least debilitated patients, but I don't feel I'm less of a priority for that.

Profile
I am a Consultant Rheumatologist at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. Having grown up in a small town in southern Romania, I qualified in Bucharest, where I started my training in Rheumatology, before moving to the UK in 2012.
I joined Addenbrooke's Hospital in 2013 as a research fellow and spent 18 months working in the Rheumatology Research Unit, gaining experience in clinical trials and the use of biologics and small molecules.
I am currently leading the early inflammatory arthritis service in Cambridge, and along with my colleagues in Paediatrics, I am developing a transition service for young people with chronic rheumatological conditions, aiming to improve their journey towards adult services, and helping build their confidence in managing their condition. I also do community Rheumatology clinics in Ely and Newmarket, for people who are local to these areas.

Early inflammatory arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, adolescent care, small joint ultrasound, drug safety, joint injections, treatment pathways.
