The location of the clinic was very inconvenient and would be difficult to reach via public transport. The appointment availability was very poor and I had to wait 5 days for the initial appointment, then a further 5 days for my follow up appointment after expressing concerns that the treatment hadn't worked. The nurse who called me back to the first consultation was incredibly rude and told me off because I hadn't given them my full name during the first phone call I made to them. She wasn't very empathetic and I felt the call was hurried. I had to make several follow up calls to get clarification on the appointment and treatment. I also had to make several calls after the treatment as I had no bleeding after 48 hours and I didn't really feel like I was listened to, I felt like my concerns weren't taken seriously and there was no urgency or rush to get me booked in for another appointment. I wasn't offered any emotional support throughout the whole process and I'm not 100% sure how to access this kind of help, or if I would even want to go through Marie Stopes for this kind of care after my experience. I feel quite let down and disappointed that women are having to go through these ordeals in this country, in this day and age. I also feel strongly that you should be able to have someone come to the appointments with you during this [name removed] period, for support.
