Dr. Winters did a lumpectomy and re-excision in one of my breasts and the work was really good in terms of the aesthetic results and speed recovery. As a private patient it was also great that she provided me with contact details so I could have a constant communication with her as needed. Also, as time progressed she realized I liked to understand the results and rational behind recommendations so she shared with me scientific data. The only reason I do not give her the top marks is because when I received the bad news of my cancer diagnosis, I missed some empathy and reassurance. I would have been great to know that that point that the cancer characteristics meant it was highly treatable, that most people with those characteristics survive, etc...Also as a first point of contact for the patient, a bit of guidance on how the system works (i.e. the role and interaction a patient will have with the different oncology specialists- e.g, surgeon, oncologist, radiologist, etc.-) would have made it a bit easier as well to understand why some decisions could not be taken by her.
