I had a seizure during a flight from London to Tokyo, and was diagnosed with a brain lesion upon arrival in Tokyo. I was extremely fortunate to be admitted under the care Mr. Price while still in Tokyo, waiting for medical repatriation. He arranged a bed for me in the neurosurgery ward on the night I landed back from Japan. Suspecting a malignant tumor, he scheduled a brain surgery at the earliest. On the morning of my surgery, I had a last minute MRI scan, that showed that my lesion had sightly shrunk under steroids, and Mr. Price took the call of cancelling my surgery while I was already in the theatre, to investigate possible alternative diagnosis. I was very impressed by the way Mr Price handled this very usual situation, coordinating with various hospital departments. After one month of extensive testing, and new MRI data showing a slight increase, he eventually scheduled another surgery. The surgery (in October 2019) was very well managed, and it was so painless that I only took paracetamol once after. When I first met Mr Price I immediately felt I was in good hands. Mr Price is a cheerful and gentle person, who takes the time to listen and to answer questions and more crucially, he goes the extra mile to provide the best possible outcome for his patients. In my case (I'm bilingual), he arranged for an awake craniotomy with language tests both in French and English to insured the best possible mapping for language areas. My condition was not something he had ever had to deal with earlier, and there were quite a few hard decisions to make along the way. He always handled it very thoughtfully. I feel eternally grateful to him and his team for how well they cared for me.
