I saw Mr Chapman-Sheath for my total right knee replacement following the excellent help, advice and success of my wife's two total knee replacements, 7 and 10 years previously. I also had excellent consultations and surgery. At 79 years of age I was driving and back at the gym and on the golf course, with a trolley, some 4/5 weeks after the operation. I had full flexibility of that knee. I was however surprised that I still suffered some discomfort when using stairs, putting on socks and turning in bed. This gradually diminished and I ceased taking any pain-killers at about 4 months. I have now been discharged by Mr Chapman-Sheath at 6 months and will have no hesitation whatsoever in returning to have my other knee replaced, if deemed necessary.
