I was referred by my employer to have a private scan and consultation with Professor Reid after being diagnosed with Osteoporosis. I work offshore and was being prevented from going back to work by the oil company medical advisor. My own local Doctor and medical consultant had deemed me fit for work but their opinion made no difference. I ended up being off work for about 9 months. Fortunately my employer supported me and wanted to get a Specialist opinion and contacted Professor Reid. The meeting with him was very positive, he was genuinely interested in helping me reach my goal of being able to go back to work. He analysed my previous scans and medical history and could see that after being on a new drug called Teriparatide there was improvements in my condition. Due to Professor Reid’s report and the recommendation that I was still fit enough to work, I have now passed my medical and am due to return to work this month. I cannot thank him enough for his support and expertise.
