Throughout consultations I was treated with care & respect; full information was given & the implications of any treatment was fully explained. My questions were given thoughtful consideration so that together, we came to decisions on how to proceed. When asking for guidance / recommendation, the consultant gave his opinion supported by his professional experience. Whether in person or receiving telephone consultations, I was not hurried & before concluding Mr Quaraishi was careful to ensure that we both shared a clear understanding of the current situation & any future proposals.

I only met with Dr Quaraishi the once, (morning of my surgery). But him and his team have totally changed my life for the better! I had spent over 6yrs searching for consultant to take my case on, following SCI in 2003 with resulting kyphosis following which had fused itself together. Many surgeons before him advised further surgery too risky and happy to leave me with chronic pain and diminished quality of life! Surgery was huge and 2yrs later my pain levels are almost nothing and quality of life increased my 75%. Thank you

The first time I met Mr Quraishi I was apprehensive. He was very direct and to the point in explaining what he planned to do. I was going to ask if he could deal with the L3/4 disc bulge as well as the L5 but he said he was going to do this as well, which was the worst one and was touching the nerve the most, before I got to ask. He was very realistic in his information, stating that I'd still have pain after the operation. I expected some residual pain but was used to having pain for the last 22 years. On getting up for the toilet 5 hours after the operation i knew he'd fixed it, no pain in L5 region. I was over the moon. He nipped in to see how I was saying that the operation went very well. I cannot thank him enough.

Mr Quraishi has always given clear and sound advice and very reassuring but left the ultimate decision regarding surgery to me. I had moved house to another county when I made the decision to proceed with my surgery but because of the trust I had in Mr Quraishi, made the decision to travel two hours from my home to a hospital where I could have surgery conducted by him.

I had been rattling around within the NHS and privately for over 10 years without receiving an accurate diagnosis relating to back pain. Professor Quraishi reviewed the notes, made some diagnostic tests and successfully treated the pain in a couple of months. In theatre, the supporting staff refer to him as "Boss" which is a mark of the esteem and admiration which he inspires. He is genuinely exceptional.
