Unfortunately I am a very nervous patient and in a completely new situation so probably hypersensitive to her comments. Telling me initially that my condition was "borderline" stayed with me more than "it is not cancer". After using my phone to take a photo of my condition was not quite such a good idea when I received an email from another consultant asking for "the patient's details". Was she more concerned about it than she let on, or was she just sensibly seeking a second opinion. I would have liked more reassurance, or maybe even some hope held out for treatment if the diagnosis is oral cancer. Having said all that, Miss Lwyn and her nurse are friendly and never keep me waiting. Everything runs very efficiently. I just don't think she fully appreciates the shock and fear of the unknown felt by this particular patient.
