What some of you may not know is that Mrs Karat has devoted a lot of her spare time over the past four years as medical support for the Tour de Frimley cycle challenges. These challenges mostly benefit the Frimley Health Charity, in particular Mrs Karat’s Breast Care Appeal which ran from 2013 to 2016. In that time we raised a staggering £70k which will go towards specialist equipment in the new Breast Unit which is due to start development and will benefit the local community. In her time as medical support, Mrs Karat has demonstrated a wealth of medical knowledge and expertise outside of her specialist field. Her bedside manner is very professional and reassuring, and her commitment to the local community in raising awareness of breast cancer has been outstanding. On behalf of the whole Tour de Frimley cycling team and support crew, I would like to thank you for being with us on this journey and for looking after our medical needs.
