I had a severely torn shoulder tendon for about 3 years. I had been told by a major London teaching hospital that I was too old for surgery and they recommended physio. which did not work. My shoulder deteriorated and I developed a frozen shoulder as well. I was referred by my GP to Mr Al-Hakim at the Holly Hospital who arranged for x-rays and MRI scan. He concluded that an operation was needed and 6 months later I have virtually full pain free use of the shoulder. He and his team have been brilliant throughout explaining what needed to be done and what would follow and the timescales involved. The operation has been a success and the follow on physio was also excellent. I had given up hope of achieving any improvement before I met Mr Al-Hakim. I cannot speak highly enough of his professionalism. It has been a very positive experience in every way.
