I came to Mr Petrik after I was referred to him for a mri scan, as soon ad I was out of the scan room I was brought back into his consulting room. He was very straight forward with me and didn't beat around the bush. He told me I had a large tumour growing on my spine and it was crushing my nerves so badly that's why I couldn't walk or feel parts of my body. I was told straight it needed to be removed as if it grew any bigger than it already was it would eventually kill me. Knowing that I had hospital phobia he reassured me everything would be okay. A week later I was in theater having the tumour removed which my sister said took quite a while. I also had a very nasty pressure sore debrided aswell. After my operation he was very kind and reassured me he would let me know the biopsy results. Turned out the tumour even though it was big was benign. I was happy and sad happy for the tumour being benign but sad as he told me the tumour had caused a lot if damage to my nerves. So my legs may never be the same again and I might not be able to walk again. 2 years later some feelings have come back into my top half of my body I can hold light things and feed myself. I went for a check up and another mri to check and they found nothing. Dr Petrik is a very kind caring and compassionate man. He saved my life I can never thank him enough.
