20th April 2022

He did a pelvic exam with a speculum: the nurse had to intervene and take over because I was in 10/10 pain. She chose a smaller speculum - he never asked if I was in pain, the nurse did. I consulted him about endometriosis - it's painful to have sex. He never asked me if I had pain during sex, when I last had sex or other questions relevant to the choice of size of speculum that ensures the patient is not in pain. Because he told me what he was going to do, I didn't know that this information was relevant. I was left bleeding a lot, I was stinging as if there had been a cut or tear, but he seemed to blame this on me; I was in pain for the next week and unable to sit on a bicycle saddle.
