My shoulder surgery has been a great success and I am enormously thankful. It is now a year since the operation and I virtually have full movement of my shoulder. Furthermore I no longer have any pain, though I have to say for at least six weeks after the surgery it was extremely painful and sleeping at night was very difficult. It would have been helpful if it had been explained to me, that the recovery period in terms of the loss of the pain and regaining more and more movement, would have taken much longer time than I had expected. I can only advise anyone having the surgery to be more patient than I was, in waiting for full recovery... and to work really hard at all the exercises in order to build up and strengthen the muscles in the arm. It would also have been helpful had Mr Gadikoppula explained to me that recovery would not be complete for at least 6 months to a year. Nevertheless I am totally delighted with the result and I am hugely grateful for his expertise and surgery.
