I left my appointment him so reassured that he understood my problem and was going to do the best for me. I loved his attitude, very calming and clear explanations.

Mr Lambert operated on my right shoulder some 7 years ago, and I have had no problems with the shoulder since. At that time I found Mr Lambert to be extremely kind and caring, and very professional. Recently I have had pain in my left shoulder and was relieved to find that Mr Lambert was still practising in Bushey Spire, although I would have had no hesitation in travelling further to see him. After treatment, and without an operation, I am once again pain free.

Having had previously unsuccessful keyhole treatment for a long standing shoulder injury elsewhere from a surgeon, I was referred to Simon Lambert as "the man to go to". From the initial meeting & consultation with him I felt immediately confident of his ability, his knowledge, the attention to detail & his focus on me as a patient in understanding my condition & advising me of what could be done. The entire experience from start to finish was exactly what one hoped it would be & I am very pleased to say that several months on from the surgery & recovery period my shoulder is back in perfect working order - so much so in fact that I can actually feel the other "healthy" one in terms of it's generic wear & tear compared to the repaired one so that in itself tells me how good the repair work & procedure has been! Simon's surgical expertise has changed my life in terms of being able to get back to sport & general physical activity that I had stopped due to pain & inability in the shoulder & the basic comfort of feeling strong again is very satisfying & something you take for granted until injury takes its toll. I would recommend anyone who seeks an expert in this kind of procedure to be reviewed by Simon & I would like to personally thank him again for doing exactly what he said he would do & restoring my shoulder back to how it should be again.

I have been lucky to have been recommended to see Mr Lambert for a second opinion on my shoulder problem. I am most happy I did that. He is a truly gentle man. He listened with interest and enquired about my lifestyle and occupation to establish a picture of my life and how significant my shoulder issues are for me as an individual. After talking, Mr Lambert gently examined my shoulder. It was clear he was actively considering the best possible options for me. He gave a clear explanation of his direction of thought and how we need to proceed. I feel I am in the care of an excellent and caring surgeon.

Profile

I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in the shoulder and elbow. I also hold an honorary academic appointment within University College London. Having worked at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH), a specialist orthopaedic hospital, where I created a research-active, educationally-acclaimed, science-based service, integrated with and recognising the extreme importance of expert rehabilitation, I have now moved to University College London Hospital. We enjoy a national reputation for clinical excellence and clinical research, which I fully expect to contribute to over the next decade. We value our national and international collaborations, and expect to develop these further with the evolution of the service. As a component of this effort my work with the AO has offered opportunities to younger colleagues while bringing the values of the AO to a wide variety of surgeons and therapists. Truly international collaboration and exchange of ideas clearly enhances and promotes the efficacy of patient-directed care and forms the basis for the motivation behind my development of the shoulder and elbow service at UCLH.
