Mr Lambert operated on my daughter last year and transformed her life successfully. I can't thank him enough. I now need his expertise, and my first visit to see him filled me with confidence. He is a brilliant surgeon and a gentleman.

Mr Lambert is the the type of doctor that all human beings should be in entitled to. He is very professional but yet caring and attentive to patients when they are vulnerable. I was in his clinic with a very bad shoulder and in no time, with his patient approach, he gave me a diagnosis which was confirmed by x-ray image. I sincerely hope that Mr Lambert promotes his philosophy to his colleagues both in the NHS and private practice around the country. Patients need supportive care and that is what you get from Mr Lambert.

Dr Lambert listened to our daughter and was excellent at putting her at ease. Within 30 minutes we had a diagnosis and plan of action in place. His whole attitude was wonderful and he was incredibly professional.

I damaged my arm in an accident, in what turned out to be a distal bicep tendon rupture. From the initial consultation with Mr Lambert through to post surgery I felt reassured in his professionalism as he listened to my extensive concerns about surgery and any possible complications, pitfalls and benefits. He made sure I understood the options available, was fair in advising success rates (of which the surgery has been a great success , no less thanks to his ability and skill) and throughout his empathetic nature helped ease any nerves I had. The nurses in recovery were equally helpful and nice, and in fact they said I was very lucky to be under Mr Lambert's care! Whilst clearly I'd rather no be in the position to under go this or any future surgery, should I have to, I wouldn't hesitate to see Mr Lambert again, and will certainly recommend him to friends and family.

Profile

I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in the shoulder and elbow. I also hold an honorary academic appointment within University College London. Having worked at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH), a specialist orthopaedic hospital, where I created a research-active, educationally-acclaimed, science-based service, integrated with and recognising the extreme importance of expert rehabilitation, I have now moved to University College London Hospital. We enjoy a national reputation for clinical excellence and clinical research, which I fully expect to contribute to over the next decade. We value our national and international collaborations, and expect to develop these further with the evolution of the service. As a component of this effort my work with the AO has offered opportunities to younger colleagues while bringing the values of the AO to a wide variety of surgeons and therapists. Truly international collaboration and exchange of ideas clearly enhances and promotes the efficacy of patient-directed care and forms the basis for the motivation behind my development of the shoulder and elbow service at UCLH.
