I am a Medical Oncologist and thought a second opinion with Mr. Lambert for my shoulder injury. Simon is a winning and wise orthopaedic specialist, completely knowledgable and with a depth of experience one can only ask for. I feel completely safe in his care and look forward meeting him again.

Mr Lambert was quietly supportive and empathic. He went through my ultrasound images in detail and explained the significant features of my injury. His manner was reassuring and unhurried. He thoroughly tested the strength and resistance of the affected arm.

Simon Lambert carried out a Total Elbow Replacement operation for my mother late last year 2017. He was extremely professional, and we thoroughly recommend him to anyone. He was very polite, caring and gentle. In addition he was very conscious of our different ethnic background. I have been informed that for such a major operation, the patient can take up to 6 months before normality is resumed, however my mother was using her hand efficiently within 3 months thanks to Mr Lambert and his support staff. We are very pleased. The only thing i would say is that 5 stars are not enough stars to rate him. I consider him a 7 star doctor. Best Shafique Jamani

I saw Mr Lambert for a painful shoulder. He is a very kind and gentle surgeon and I have utmost faith in his abilities. I would certainly not hesitate to revisit him should i need to in the future and would recommend him to anyone needing Shoulder or Elbow attention.

Profile

I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in the shoulder and elbow. I also hold an honorary academic appointment within University College London. Having worked at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH), a specialist orthopaedic hospital, where I created a research-active, educationally-acclaimed, science-based service, integrated with and recognising the extreme importance of expert rehabilitation, I have now moved to University College London Hospital. We enjoy a national reputation for clinical excellence and clinical research, which I fully expect to contribute to over the next decade. We value our national and international collaborations, and expect to develop these further with the evolution of the service. As a component of this effort my work with the AO has offered opportunities to younger colleagues while bringing the values of the AO to a wide variety of surgeons and therapists. Truly international collaboration and exchange of ideas clearly enhances and promotes the efficacy of patient-directed care and forms the basis for the motivation behind my development of the shoulder and elbow service at UCLH.
