I saw Simon Lambert for broken elbow recently and cannot get over what a kind, caring, charming consultant he is. He explained everything to me and Meade me feel totally at ease. I would recommend him 100% to anyone who asks for a recommendation
I had an 11th hour change from another surgeon because of poor communication and he was planning a repair although he did tell me that it may not work..
I was recommended by several friends to Mr Lambert. This was the best decision I made.
On my first consultation, Mr Lambert gave me a thorough examination and looked at my MRI scan. He said that a repair wouldn't work and I needed a replacement which I had on the 25th October so it is one month since.
My recovery has been virtually painless, just a little stiffness and I am getting used to doing things with one hand. Mr Lambert sent me several booklets about…before, during and after the operation – this information was very helpful. By the way, Stephanie his PA is a real treasure. She is based at Bushey Spire and is amazing and so helpful.
At the first appointment Mr Lambert spent lots of time getting to know me and explaining everything about my shoulder and the procedure.
After the operation he visited me each day in hospital and was very encouraging. Dr Chandra, the anaesthetist, who works with Mr Lambert was excellent and also very caring.
The medical team on Lea ward were great.
So all in all, if you need shoulder surgery, choose Mr Lambert because he is the best in every way.
Absolutely lovely man who listened and understood my situation. I am hoping he will be able to resolve my shoulder issue.
Mr Lambert is a top notch, caring, trusting, orthopedic specialist. He treated a complication of my shoulder replacement surgery which I had done in Mayo Clinic, Rochester MN, two days after it occurred. He didn't say it's not my problem. He didn't say go back and see your primary surgeon in the US. I live in the middle east. I booked a flight the next day and was at Heathrow at 12 noon. He operated me and treated my ruptured shoulder tendon at 1:30pm at Spire Bushey on the same day. I now have a pain-free and well functioning shoulder because of him. Otherwise I would have been doomed to having a reverse shoulder angioplasty which is terrible compared to the primary arthroplasty. I am a physician myself and have travelled to many countries. I have yet to meet anyone as professional, capable, sympathetic and kind as Mr Lambert. It is definitely worth it to travel to the UK from abroad just to be visited and treated by him.
Ideal in every way. Listened, examined, discussed and diagnosed with a clear plan to resolve. Couldn't ask for more.

Profile
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in the shoulder and elbow. I also hold an honorary academic appointment within University College London. Having worked at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH), a specialist orthopaedic hospital, where I created a research-active, educationally-acclaimed, science-based service, integrated with and recognising the extreme importance of expert rehabilitation, I have now moved to University College London Hospital. We enjoy a national reputation for clinical excellence and clinical research, which I fully expect to contribute to over the next decade. We value our national and international collaborations, and expect to develop these further with the evolution of the service. As a component of this effort my work with the AO has offered opportunities to younger colleagues while bringing the values of the AO to a wide variety of surgeons and therapists. Truly international collaboration and exchange of ideas clearly enhances and promotes the efficacy of patient-directed care and forms the basis for the motivation behind my development of the shoulder and elbow service at UCLH.
