I was immediately impressed that Mr Lambert came to the waiting room to call me, rather than sending a nurse and he offered to carry my bag or coat. He apologised for the delay in seeing me (which wasn't a problem; it's good to know he takes as much time as necessary with his patients). He has an extremely pleasant manner and I didn't feel rushed with my explanations. The copy of the letter he has written to my GP is evidence that he noted and understood perfectly everything I told him. Mr Lambert asked if I'd like a chaperone before he examined me, which I declined. I felt the examination was thorough and I was never pushed beyond the point of discomfort. Mr Lambert explained clearly what he was going to do and what he wanted me to do and explained his findings at each stage. The consultation concluded with Mr Lambert summing up his opinion and advising the next course of action. The fact that he helped me on with my coat (something my GP has never done) also impressed me. I left his room feeling that I'd been listened to and optimistic that effective treatment is available.
