I first met mr sherif Awad at an open evening in the Derby Royal hospital. My husband and I had discussed the gastric sleeve for me, and had done a lot of research beforehand.i Had also had a consultation with another surgeon about a year ago. Mr Awad was very approachable, professional with a very caring understanding manner. The evening was really informative and I just knew I'd be in safe hands. So I booked a consultation . A week and a half later I had my operation!. The nursing staff were amazing, they really couldn't do enough for you . Mr Awad came to see me before operation and put me at ease, he was also there when I was in recovery and came to the ward to check on me. The morning after my operation he was there to answer any questions and give me the advice on my recovery. And I saw him a few more times before I went home, he really is a wonderful surgeon. The follow up care from nurses and dietician has been great just knowing someone is checking on you daily is so reassuring. If you have ever thought of having the gastric sleeve I could not recommend mr Awad and his wonderful team more highly. I'm only 1week pre op and feel amazing, no pain or regrets.
