I had carpel tunnel in both hands, which after tests was in both cases, in my wrists, the procedure to correct this was explained fully together with recovery time & how to aid recovery by massaging bio oil into the area, to massage the tendon & reduce scaring. I was advised not to let it get worse as this can cause nerve damage, muscle wastage & loss of strength in the hand & prolong the recovery period or in severe cases can lead to permanent numbness. My worst hand (right) was operated on in early October 2014 & the numbness stopped immediately my left hand was done late February 2015 & again instant relief. Full strength takes a little while to return depending on how bad the problem is in the first place. The incision in my case was only 3cm long in both instances, the operation was done under local anesthetic & only took a short time. The team working with Mr Sauve were friendly & professional & the theatre manager who prepared me for the operation talked to me throughout the procedure. The operation does not hurt & afterwards I did not have any pain just discomfort like bruising & the odd ache which eased with rest. It is important to keep swelling to a minimum for which I took ibuprofen, each hand was rested for 2 weeks after the operation, wiggling fingers to aid circulation. Believe me just getting dressed/undressed is a challenge one handed. Cutting food was also out of the question. The stitches came out after 2 weeks & another check at 6 weeks to check progress. I was put at my ease & do not hesitate to recommend Mr Sauve & his team.
