In September 2017, my right knee was replaced by Mr Heaton-Adegbile and his outstanding support team at the Fitzwilliam Hospital, Peterborough. Never having had an operation before, I went into the process with a certain amount of trepidation. At the preliminary meetings, on the day of the operation and at my subsequent post-operation review, I have been thoroughly impressed by Mr Heaton-Adegbile's calmness, humour, genuine care and absolute professionalism. Mr Heaton-Adegbile is very impressive and I would recommend him without hesitation. I must also point out that all the support staff I met at the Fitzwilliam Hospital were wonderful. After 6 weeks I am off crutches, off painkillers, driving my car and well on the mend.

I had a total hip replacement, my surgeon was Mr Philip Heaton, my surgery took place on August 17th at Fitzwilliam Hospital Peterborough. Throughout the referral process , admission, surgery and aftercare I have been treated in an exemplary manner. I have been put at ease when feeling anxious and kept up to date with every aspect of my treatment. I cannot highlight the excellent level of care Mr Heaton provided me with and still does. His manner is professional but not "stuffy" he is inclusive in his approach. How he articulates your diagnosis and how he plans to operate is explained clearly, his reassurance is second to none. His aftercare is brilliant he instills confidence in you to continue with your rehabilitation in a very positive manner. I am amazed that after only 6 weeks I was fully mobile , pain free and the quality of my life vastly improved that is down to Mr Heaton and his team of healthcare professionals I cannot thank them enough.

Mr Heaton explained everything clearly of what the operation involved and he answered any questions I had. He was most polite and the whole experience went very well. I was also impressed that during the operation he had students there that were learning their profession. All the operating team that worked with Mr Heaton were also very good.

Over the last two years I have had four surgical operations conducted by Mr Heaton-Adegbile at two Ramsey Healthcare hospitals in Boston and Peterborough the last two operations were a total knee replacement and hip replacement at the Fitzwilliam in Peterborough conducted 10 months apart. To say I have been treated with the utmost respect by all I have come into contact with would not do justice to the care and understanding I have received, which has been exceptional at all times. These are not small procedures and by their very nature caused some concern to me beforehand however, Mr Heaton-Adegbile not only reassured me, but by his very easy and caring manner gave me the confidence in him that I would be ok afterwards this has proven to be the case. There is always some rehabilitation after such surgery and the post op with the knee has been lengthy but in no way painful, the hip operation which I had 8 weeks ago today has been totally pain free, honestly pain free and for the first time in nearly 3 years I can stand up straight and walk freely with confidence. I would recommend Ramsey Health care and especially Mr Heaton- Adegbile if you need surgery of this type. A fantastic surgeon and personality backed up by very professional and caring nursing staff. Look no further, excellent!
