The care I received from Mr Heaton-Adegbile was excellent, both before my two operations and afterwards. He explained everything clearly and was very kind and friendly to me and my family. I felt I was in very safe hands, and my husband had no concerns when I went to hospital for my second hip replacement operation. I am so pleased to have had both hips replaced, it has made a huge difference to my day to day living and I am now able to do all the things I could before arthritis made activity so difficult. I am very grateful to Mr Heaton-Adegbile for his excellent care.

I was in great pain at times, particularly in the night, with a suspected tear in a ligament in my right knee. I was referred to Mr Heaton at the Fitzwilliam Hospital, Peterborough and he confirmed the diagnosis. He recommended angioplasty which is keyhole surgery to repair the tear as soon as possible. I was admitted for daycare surgery within a short space of time. The operation was done very quickly, the anaesthetic was good and didn't leave me feeling "hung over". I saw Mr Heaton both before and after the operation. It is well worth having this operation because if you follow the advice of Mr Heaton and the physiotherapist you will make a good recovery and feel much better than you have for a long time. But it is vital to follow the advice which is: don't stay in bed and don't just sit around. You need to move the knee by pottering round the house. Do a bit and then sit a bit. That way you won't lock your knee. I'm not one for doing exercises, but again they are important. They may seem boring, simple even, but they make a great contribution towards a full recovery. Please be patient too. Whatever your age, the knee swelling will take time to go down, at least six-eight weeks (and not a couple of weeks as one leaflet told me!). I am very pleased with the operation Mr Heaton performed and I am very happy at the extent of my recovery six weeks after my op. I have more energy than I've had to a long time!

Mr Heaton explained why I needed my surgery of a total knee replacement and the benefits that I would get, but also told me if he did the surgery I would also have to put in the effort of alot of excercise to get total movement back, starting within hours of the operation, with the help of the physio's. After five weeks of surgery I have nearly perfect movement in my new knee, and now i still have to work on building my strenght up. This is really down to a good team explaining what needs to be done and why.

Mr Heaton-Adegbile did my hip replacement last year at The FitzWilliam Hospital in Peterborough. I can safely say that I've never looked back since. No pain and mobilising normally, back at work. He's a great surgeon, professional and listens to what you have to say. The hospital staff were second to none. I would deffinately recommend this surgeon for orthopedic surgery. Thank you Mr Heaton-Adegbile
