Mr Paul Thiruchelvam and Orla (cancer nurse) are beyond amazing! Paul is highly professional: he takes time to listen and time to explain. He was very clear on my treatment options and did everything to make me feel confident about the positive outcomes of the surgery. I have had two surgeries following the shocking diagnosis of DCIS - one to remove cancer cells and another - to reconstruct the breast by using the flap from my back. Both operations were day surgery, so I was home on the same evening. I was surprised that I had no real pain at all, I was just tender. Paul clearly did his magic as an oncoplastic - the reconstructed breast looks like the normal breast, even now only 2 weeks after the operation. I will have some scars, but they will fade and become a part of who I am now. I will now just need a little 5-day course of radiotherapy and should be good to go. I am truly grateful to Paul for his wonderful work and could not recommend him highly enough to anyone going through this.
