Following a motorcycle accident in July 2013, I had my right leg amputated and lost use of my right am, which suffered multiple fractures and breaks, this along with a serious bone infection left it looking like the only option was amputation. I was introduced to Mr Jacobs and Mr Khan from Salisbury Hospital, who suggested various options, one of which was to have fibula bone from my remaining leg removed and transplanted into my right arm, from the elbow to wrist. This was a ground breaking operation in an attempt to save my arm. These two amazing surgeons have been and still are there supporting me through my recovery. The operation has exceeded my expectations and I now have use of my arm. You can trust Mr Jacobs to give you the information you need to make an informed decision, without any pressure. He listens to your feelings and concerns. My after care has been second to none as both surgeons continue to monitor my progress through regular follow up appointments. Mr Jacobs is not only an outstanding surgeon, but a compassionate, down to earth and above all honest human being, who I trusted with my life and would do again without hesitation. I would like to take this opportunity to pass on my heart felt thanks to Mr Jacobs and his team. Thank you Neil Whitfield
