I first met Mr Ahmad at Queens Hospital for the consultation. My hips were really bad and I was in extreme amounts of pain . He instantly reassured me that once I had my operation I would feel better . He explained in detail why my hip was so bad at such a relatively young age. Mr Ahmad showed me in detail my X-ray and the area which was affected and what he would be doing to recify it. I immediately cried out of sheer relief that finally I was going to get my life back . He was Empathetic, caring and sincere . He informed me he would be personally performing the operation that made me instantly feel at ease . After the operation he came to see me explained it detail what he did and how happy he was with the result . He even showed me on his phone a picture of my hip which looked amazing ! Unfortunately due to my anemia I had to stay in for longer than expected. Mr Ahmad continued to check on my progress throughout and recommended I pursue the reasons why I am so chronically anemic with my GP before I look at having my 2nd hip done . After a couple of months the improvement was clear to see . In terms of the scar I was informed that it was glued not stapled. All 3 people in my ward I have kept in touch with and all 3 have had an infection after whilst my scar I had absolutely no problem with at all . It is neat and fading, in fact I was told by the COPE team that it was one of the best they had seen ! 3 months after the operation I had my review which he and I are very happy with and I have now requested to be put on the list for my left hip replacement to be done I cannot fault the care given Mr Ahmad which is the turning point to giving me back a new lease of life !
