Over the course of several meetings, Mr Ahmad discussed the state of my hip, possible origins of the issue, showed me the Xrays, etc, and the need for an operation. This was diagnosed as severe osteo-arthritis, resulting in a significant loss of bone at the top of the femur, necessitating the largest possible hip replacement. This operation took place in April 2024. I had been somewhat concerned that the scar would not heal well (a childhood operation to remove a bone chip from behind the right patella had not resulted in a 1cm wide scar), however the scar he has left me with is neat, less than 2mm, and did not require any further treatment, and as a result, I have been progressing well with recovery since. During an early meeting, Mr Ahmad had walked me through the potential risks and consequences of the operation. Prior to the operation, I was walking with a significant limp, and using a walking stick. Since the operation, I now walk on a much more even keel and with less pain, which were major objectives. While I am not in any way qualified to judge on the quality of the medical procedure, I found Mr Ahmad to be friendly, professional, and interested in the progress I was making. For example, he was returning to the building as I was leaving, post operation, and he took the time to show me the post-op xray, and confirmed that there had been no issues beyond anything that had been anticipated. He was pleased to confirm this at our subsequent appointment.
