14 years ago after an arthroscopy my knee became infected necessitating multiple subsequent cleanouts. I was therefore anxious about further surgery and for this reason took a long time to make a decison about which surgeon to use for my TKR. I have now had a pre-TKR arthroscopy with Mr Ahmad to take a biopsy to check for remaining historical infection as well as now the TKR on my left knee. This was particularly complicated because I required a hinge joint as opposed to standard. Both procedures were fully successful. I cannot recommend Mr. Ahmad highly enough. He listened fully to all my concerns, kept me informed every step of the way and I trust his clinical expertise absolutely. In addition I had no hesitation in asking to be put on his list for my right knee which also requires a TKR. I hope this will be carried out in six months time .
