I am a 70 year old female with a badly worn knee due to complications following a road accident 50 years ago. I was very pleased to find Mr Alam on this page. Mr Alam immediately knew just what to do, not just to replace my knee but to improve the overall alignment of the leg and this he has done. I had my T.K.R. at The Oaks Hospital, Colchester on 5th Feb. 2018. I must say that I could not fault the whole experience. The nursing staff are so caring and helpful day and night. My every need was met and the room was excellent. My operation went smoothly and I was home in four days. By this time I was able to manage quite well on crutches . I followed the pain management advice and did not find it a problem, even sleeping quite well at night with the help prescribed. I write this at six weeks. I have just had a gentle walk around the park with a stick and I am delighted with my progress so far. This week I even went up and down a flight of stairs, foot over foot, with the guidance of the physiotherapist. I feel very grateful to Mr Alam for his skill and expertise.
