From my initial consultation Mr White was very informative, explaining the options required for my surgery and possible outcomes. His manner was friendly, and I did not feel rushed into making decisions. I felt confident at all times that he was the right surgeon for my operation, from initial consultation, during preparation for my operation and post surgery and felt comfortable asking the same questions over, which he was happy to answer numerous times. I would like to have received more information regarding the actual procedure, by attending a pre-op clinic as I feel this may have helped manage my expectations of how I would be feeling in the first few days after surgery. I also feel that being discharged on the same days as surgery may have been too soon, as although I felt well enough to leave, I was also heavily medicated and feel there were questions I probably would have asked the nursing staff the following day which would have supported my recovery and both mine and my husband's understanding of what was to be expected with regards to my pain and mobility. However, that being said, the follow up care has also been excellent with a direct line to the Arthroplasty Nurse Practitioners at PCH.
