From the first consult at PCH, Mr White was able to assure me that not only was my operation necessary, but that all would go well. I’d had a bad experience some years earlier & was dreading going through it all again Mr White came to see me in my room at Hinchingbrook hospital before my operation, in the anaesthetic room & in recovery to let me know it had gone well. Recovery has been far better than I imagined it would be & my wound has healed beautifully. I hope I won’t need any further operations, but if any of my family or friends required orthopaedic surgery, I would definitely tell them if it’s possible to ask for Mr White. Some consultants don’t feel the need to listen to their patients, no need to talk to them either. Ward round consists of asking the ward sister accompanying them how the patient is doing. Mr White listened, explained & told me he would give me a nice new hip. That’s exactly what he did & I’m extremely grateful.
