I was treated by Mr Phadnis at the trauma clinic at the Royal Sussex as I had broken and dislocated my right elbow. The fracture needed a plate and pinning and the tendon needed to be reattached. Despite being incredibly busy he took the time to explain the surgery and I was discharged the same day, albeit with a great many drugs to deal with the pain. With a great deal of physio support and repeat appointments with Mr Phadnis I now have almost full function and rotation of the joint after 6 months despite there having been damage from earlier injuries in the same joint. My range of function was much better than I could have hoped for given previous damage and there is no pain, just a bit of an ache which I'm assured should improve if I continue with the physio. Really an outstanding surgeon and I was very lucky he was on duty for my surgery.
