Mr Kirkby-Bott did a great job on my inguinial hernia repair. The surgery was carried out within two weeks following an initial consultation and total time spent, from booking into the Spire Southampton, to walking out on the same day, was around five hours. The anaesthetist led sedation was without any problems or side effects and pain free. There was some pain and soreness in the first three to four days but thereafter healing was very quick and after one week I was out and about. After two weeks I was back to normal activities and after four weeks I was able to walk six miles and complete some heavy gardening tasks. I followed the rehabilitation videos supplied post-surgery from around day four, until the fourth week when I found my normal active routine was ample for my further recovery and strength building. I am 71 years old and was active prior to surgery without any significant heath issues
