I needed a total Thyroidectomy for a Multinodular Goitre that had grown quite big and was causing compression symptoms. I spent time looking for the right surgeon which was Mr Kirkybott and I can say I was not disappointed. It truly pays to have the right person for the job. For someone who has never had an operation before, I wanted to know I was in the right hands. His personal website and hospital profiles provided extensive information for pre and post care and on his credentials as a specialist with this area. On meeting him at the consultation and pre surgery he was able to explain everything to me in layman terms. I was also very impressed with him having access to nerve machine to reduce vocal cord impairment and also he mentioned adding something extra to support my scar healing. At this point I thinks it is also important to mention his secretary too Suzannah Vaill , as she was also outstanding throughout, answering queries and supporting me. She works hard and deserves a massive pat on the back. They make a great team . For me now it’s about recovering and adjusting to a lifetime of medication. However I am feeling positive and happy as already feeling benefits of the procedure, so thanks to the support and treatment I received.
