Very helpful and friendly. Everything explained clearly and concisely. Even saw me early! Very happy and looking forward to the next stages. If I'm at all scared at least I know I've got a great team helping me all the way!

We had a full discussion relating to my condition and the surgical options available to me. Mr Hewes was approachable, friendly and certainly knowledgable. I did not feel rushed and was definitely listened to in a calm, sensitive manner whilst remaining professional throughout.

Mr James Hewes was very informative explaining all the pros and cons of my proposed surgery. My only negative comment is that while I have no problem with students being present during my assessment, I would have liked the opportunity to be aware of this before entering the examination room.

Mr Hewes took time to listen to me and allow me to ask any questions no matter how silly I thought they were. He explained everything I needed to know in language I could understand and I felt very comfortable talking to him.

Although he is a great surgeon, his people skills are awful. He is rather rude and hurtful with his words. He does not have a clue about the psychological side to changing eating habits and losing weight. This is the hardest part learning to adapt to Change. It is not easy. I lost 9 stone in 14 months yet he still said I haven't done very well since the operation. I have never achieved this much before so I am very proud of myself despite his comments.
