I chose Mr Gibbs for my recent hip replacement surgery because I was so pleased with the outcome when he replaced my other hip a few years ago. He is very professional whilst being approachable and easy to talk to, giving time to clearly answer any questions and explain procedures. I have no hesitation in recommending him to others requiring joint replacement. My recovery this time has again been excellent.

To say I was worried/nervous about having a knee replacement was an understatement. I was recommended to Mr Gibbs and eight weeks on from surgery I am pleased to say I’m glad I went ahead - to be pain free is wonderful. Mr Gibbs talked me through what I should expect after surgery (this was what I was most anxious about). He was down to earth and spoke to me in a way which I totally understood. He answered every question I had (and I had a few) and put my mind at rest. Would I recommend Mr Gibbs - absolutely and would even use his services again if the need arose. Once again thank you for your kindness and professionalism.

I’ve had both hips replaced by mr Gibbs at the Montefiore the 1st in March 2020 and the 2nd in June 2021. Both times I felt totally at ease with the procedure which was due to the professionalism carried out by mr Gibbs. I find him to be a very humble and straightforward person who installs total confidence in his patient. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anybody who is in the need of a hip replacement.

I went to see James Gibbs about my troublesome hip and he recommended a total hip replacement. He talked me through the procedure and explained things in as much detail as I wanted to know I wasn’t looking forward to it needless to say, but his professional manner, sincerity, warmth and knowledge was very reassuring. Two weeks post op James has signed me off; I can touch my toes (sort of!) stand on my operated leg side and even drive. I had very little post op pain only slight discomfort and was really mobile after three days without crutches. I can only put this down to his skill and expertise and would wholeheartedly recommend him as a surgeon. Thank you James for giving me back a very large part of my life. I am so grateful to you.
