I was referred to Mr Gibbs for a total hip replacement which I underwent 10 weeks ago. I am now walking well, pain free and able to tie up my own shoe laces for the first time in months! Mr Gibbs was kind, calm, understanding and explained the whole procedure in layman’s terms. The aftercare from both him and the nursing team at The Nuffield was excellent.

I first met Mr James Gibbs at an out-patient appointment at The Montefiore Hospital and immediately found him to be a kind, pleasant and considerate man. He explained all the details of a total hip replacement in a concise and informative manner. The subsequent in-patient care and treatment I received from Mr Gibbs and his team at The Montefiore Hospital in early May 2022 was, without exception, outstanding. I felt safe and extremely well looked after.
My hip pain has completely disappeared and I am walking distances without aids and am gradually returning to all the activities I love including adult ballet and playing with the grandchildren.

Mr Gibbs has replaced both my hips, the first in January and the second 12 weeks later. I found him to be very straight forward and clear in explaining the options to me and his whole approach was caring and professional. I felt listened to, respected and encouraged every step of the way. It is nearly 3 weeks since my second op and I am walking approx 2 miles per day. These ops have transformed my life for the good. I would definitely recommend Mr Gibbs. Thank you Mr Gibbs - you're an absolute star.

He regularly manages hip and knee conditions along with sports injuries. He performs above average numbers of hip and knee replacements including Robotic surgery, partial knee replacement and hip resurfacing. He is also a specialist in redo joint replacement surgery. He also performs key-hole surgery and ligament reconstruction for soft tissue and sports injuries. He has an interest in joint preservation treatments for arthritis such as visco-supplementation and corrective osteotomy surgery.
