Following a fall in April 2018 I was taken to St Peters Hospital Chertsey . Once X Rays had been taken together with a CT scan I was told I had four part fracture dislocation of my right proximal humerus. In short I had busted my shoulder good and proper . I was seen by Mr Polyzois in the fracture clinic the next day and told I would need reverse shoulder arthroplasty surgery , the operation was scheduled for 2nd May . Following the operation I was discharged the following day. With a follow up appt arranged for two weeks . At the follow up appt I was had an X Ray which showed excellent positioning of all the components , I had the staples removed to reveal a very clean and neat scar . I have continued with physio and am currently doing strength exercises and increasing my range of movement . I am now three months post op. I can lift my arm above my head and out to the side , I have been off pain killers for the last four weeks, physios say that my range of movement is above what is expected at this time . Throughout my stay and aftercare I can not thank Mr Polyzois and his team enough . I understood everything about the operation , what the outcome was going to be , and the work I needed to put in , never once did I feel uneasy , everything was explained fully to me and all my questions answered . I have more movement from a complete shoulder replacement than a friend does who had a op to stop his shoulder dislocating at another hospital . I feel very fortunate that I was taken to St Peters Hospital on the day of my accident and not my other local hospital otherwise I believe I would not have had the same outcome. I can not thank Mr Polyzois enough .
