My first meeting with Mr. Ioannis Polyzois was on 6/11/2018 at St. PETER'S hospital, it was an appointment to view the results of my MRI scan on my right shoulder. He was very polite, and informed me straight away I would be needing an operation as my shoulder was a 'mess' one look at the screen and I had to agree it was not a pleasant sight. He informed me it had to be done by the end of the year, ideally it was an operation that should have already been completed. He wanted me to leave it with him to sort out the date. His calm and patient manner and tone of voice in explaining the 'finer' details of the operation, the recovery time and all the other relevant details physio etc. was excellent. I never once felt he was trying to 'rush' the appointment, he even wanted to know if I had any further questions, I asked him who was going to do the operation, he confirmed it would be him, I do remember saying 'good' - I had no idea he was an expert in this field of surgery, that came later, when friends decided to 'Google' his name and we saw his name in 'lights'! However from the moment I stepped into that room his calm and reassuring tone put me at ease, I must admit I am a ' nervous wreck' when I have to have a blood test!! Within 2 hours of seeing him I had a call from the hospital confirming the 14/12/2018 as the date of my operation. With a busy schedule of patients that day, he was able to sort out a date for my operation. What a caring and dedicated person, it is no surprise his patients hold him in high esteem, I have met a few of his patients, and even a relative of a patient who he still sees, they speak very highly of him, all referring to his caring attitude and patience. I have read some of the reviews and I see he has been given 5 gold stars, if it was possible, I have to admit a book of gold stars would be appropriate too!!!!
