We - a family from Inverness - have been so impressed with Mr Akrawi and cannot speak highly enough of his professional expertise and skills along with the way he deals with his patients and their families. Our daughter, aged 14, was referred to Mr Akrawi and he immediately identified that a full Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction along with removal of damaged cartlidge was required in her right knee following a gymnastics injury which had happened some time previously. At the first consultation, Mr Akrawi was very clear and comprehensive in his assessment of the knee and what would be required by way of treatment. Throughout our dealings with him, his manner has been excellent and his commitment to doing his very best for all his patients is very clear. By his own admission, he is a highly skilled and experienced orthopaedic knee surgeon and all the available evidence to us would certainly back this up 100%. Our daughter went into hospital for her knee surgery on the 4th May and the operation lasted around 4 hours. At the close, Mr Akrawi confirmed immediately with us that the operation had been a success and he then paid us all a visit in the evening in the children's ward and spent a good 15 minutes checking things were OK and offering plenty of good advice, reassurance and support to us all. Our daughter returned home on the 5th May and thanks to Mr Akrawi, her knee should make a fully recovery over the next 9 - 12 months. We are so grateful to Mr Akrawi for the great work he has done for us and would recommend him without any hesitation to any other patient considering/requiring any knee operation surgery.
