After 2 very thorough, unhurried consultations during which the risks were clearly outlined and discussed Mr Akrawi agreed to carry out my knee replacement surgery. This took place on 17th May and I cannot fault the care and attention from him and all the staff I encountered at St. Michael’s Hospital, Hayle. I was mobile and discharged on 18th and had dispensed with my crutches by 20th. I had minimal swelling and by the end of week 2 was only needing pain relief for the knee still awaiting surgery. He says he is a perfectionist and this is very noticeable by looking at my wound. A very caring, careful surgeon - I hope he will have the opportunity to carry out the operation on my other knee.
