Seen by Dr Akrawi in raigmore hospital I had a knee cap displacement and severed patella tendon ( my knee cap was 3 inches up my thigh ) . 5 surgeons refused to do my operation ( seeing a short fat 61yr old man) . However Dr Akrawi seen a human being with an extremely complicated knee injury . He sat me down and went through the various options that he could do , Dr Akrawi told me of the risks etc but that he was confident of a successful outcome. Day off the operation Dr Akrawi performed a 6hr operation to reset my knee cap and graft part of my hamstring to where my patella tendon should be. After care was excellent Dr Akrawi even on his day of during Xmas and new year came to reassure me that the operation was a great success. 8 Weeks later I'm mobilising fully without any crutches or walking stick.
