Having had 2 consultations with Mr Spink over the past 18 months. He has been very supportive & has understood my situation and how best to advise and direct me for the best possible course of treatment. I would highly recommend Mr Spink.

My first appointment with Mr George Spink was on 14 October 2020 at the East Riding Community Hospital, Beverley to review my MRI scan I had on the 20 September 2020. Mr Spink was a very pleasant caring person and made feel at ease. He showed me the MRI Scan and very clearly explained my spinal problem due to C5/6 discs bulging into my Spinal cord. He also carried out physical examination on my hands and felt that the pain in my hands could be due to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome so he would arrange for me to have test for it which I had on 16 November 2020. He said that the MRI scan showed no trapped nerves that could account for the constant pain in my left shoulder and arm so he would recommend to my GP to arrange for the necessary treatment for this. Mr Spink phoned me on 5 January 2021 and said he would recommend to my GP for me to see an Orthopaedic Surgeon about my Carpal Tunnel Syndrome which I am waiting to be arranged. I fully appreciate very much what Mr Spink has done for me and also the NHS Staff.

The experience was a good one, mr Spink was very thorough and explained everything to me in simple terms. The first online consult had a few tech issues but we worked through it OK. Even the bill was less than I expected even though BUPA was paying.

I first met Mr Spink in late 2016 after suffering a back injury I sustained playing football. After MRI scans Mr Spink informed there was no need for surgery at that time and it was hopeful my symptoms would improve My injury showed a decline in mid 2019 after running so I again sought the help and advice of Mr Spink. After numerous battles with the NHS in terms of obtaining an MRI, I eventually managed to do so and I requested Mr Spink due to my previous experience. Mr Spink advised that surgery was now very important prevent or reduce further issues further in life. Within a few weeks, I then had a laminectomy. After the Op, Mr Spink came and saw me within recovery and wished me well. Since the operation my symptoms have improved slightly and although there is some lower back pain, it is less than before. Mr Spink called me at an alloted time arranged to discuss my progress. A follow up MRI has quickly been arranged to see my progress months on. Being honest, I thought the service from the NHS as a whole wasn't a particularly good one. It was almost a battle to speak to someone and to try and obtain further tests. On a couple of occasions there were "crossed wires" within the service which delayed examinations early on. This included referrals not being sent through and on one occasion I arrived at the hospital on time to be told the appointment had been cancelled without them notifying me. Despite the above, none of this reflected my experience with Mr Spink. Every interaction I have had with him has been excellent from the outset. From the very first meeting with him, I felt well informed, at ease and understood the whole process. I also trusted his judgement and diagnosis as it was clear, precise and honest. He showed me my injury from the results of my MRI scans and discussed in detail the injury and the next steps if any were needed. At the hospital on day of operation I was quite apprehensive and worried. I had a chat with Mr Spink who again, put me and my thoughts at ease and it made the whole process easier for me. I also thought it was a nice touch to come and see me after the operation. I had numerous issues beforehand with the NHS as above, however so far, it is clear that when Mr Spink has told me something will happen (i.e calls, operation and a further MRI), It has done and I think this is testament to him. I cannot fault my experience with Mr Spink and I want to thank him for everything so far. I can't recommend him enough. I have to give 5 stars for everything. Thank you

Impossible to suggest how care could be improved, but view based entirely on one consultation.
