I had a telephone consultation with Mr Spink following an MRI scan. He explained what the problem was -degenerative spinal stenosis- and suggested surgery. He also explained the many risks involved.
I felt well informed although I would of course have preferred a face to face consultation.

I was still in A&E when Mr Spink told my family and I that I wouldn’t walk again. I think this was very insensitive, and wrong as I’m now walking. How did he not know that I was suffering from depression? This could have tipped me over the edge.
