What a marvellous and very empathetic man. I am a 70 year old type 1 diabetic who took a fall near Lake Coniston and dislocated my shoulder and fractured my left humeral head on the 25th October 2021! I had the arm put back in the shoulder socket by Furness hospital staff, but unfortunately there wasn't a shoulder surgeon there that day. Mr Talawadekar popped in to see me a couple of days later and said my shoulder was fractured, and that I could leave it, but when it healed I might have reduced mobility in the arm, or that he could operate on me in 4 days time, when he was back at Furness hospital. I live in Brentwood in Essex and was in the Lake District with my family and 4 grandchldren for the 1/2 term holiday. He said, I was too young to have limited movement and that if I was his mother he would recommend I have the operation done. So I did and a brilliant job he made of it with wonderful stitches, which I have just had removed from my local Basildon hospital. He warned me that I should have physiotherapy and must exercise the arm for the next 3 months, which I shall make sure I do. I can't recommend this man enough. Christine Rose
