As a highly experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist I bring over thirty years of experience to my practice. Throughout my career, I have worked closely alongside patients with both benign and malignant gynaecological conditions and have achieved international recognition for the impact on many key surgical and investigative procedures, including laparoscopic surgery, endometrial ablation and awake patient hysteroscopic procedures. As a specialist in gynaecology and gynaecological oncology, I offer both complex laparoscopic and open surgery for both benign gynaecological conditions such as menstrual problems, endometriosis and fibroids and all gynaecological cancers doing so with the same dedication, attention to detail and professionalism that has come to define all of my work. I am subspecialist trained in gynaecological oncology as well as having advanced skills in both minimal access laparoscopic surgery and hysteroscopic surgery and colposcopy. I specialise in providing patient focused care for each patient’s gynaecological condition. I am dedicated to advancing the treatment of both benign and malignant gynaecological conditions to ensure the best possible outcomes for women. I specialise in providing patient focused care for the patient’s gynaecological condition. I am an internationally recognised expert in awake patient procedures such as hysteroscopic myomectomy, polypectomy and endometrial ablation. I am also a recognised international speaker and have been invited to speak at various conferences related to Gynaecology in Europe, the Middle East, America, Australia and South Africa. I am a former clinical director at Queen Alexandra Hospital where I led the development of the single visit endometrial cancer screening service for women with postmenopausal bleeding. I introduced the use of a hysteroscopic morcellator which has facilitated the treatment of polyps and submucous fibroids without general anaesthesia or sedation. After completing training in general obstetrics and gynaecology, I continued my studies to become specialists in gynaecological oncology to become registered as due accredited by the GMC. I have been awarded prizes for my work at national and international meetings, including The North American Menopause Society Meeting, British Gynaecological Cancer Society Scientific Meeting and The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists World Congress Meeting. In addition, I have had work published in various journals such as The British Journal of Cancer, The Lancet, Gynaecological Oncology and Climacteric. In terms of special interests, Mr Gardner is notable for his focus on screening for all forms of gynaecological cancer, the identification of abnormalities or malignancies in any area of the female reproductive system and his unique approach to surgery. As a gynaecologist of great knowledge and sensitivity, Mr Gardner has played an integral role in improving the quality of life of his patients, whether his services have been called upon to identify a chronic health condition or treat a life-threatening form of cancer. Mr Gardner is a true individual in the world of Advanced Gynaecology and will always go the extra mile for those in search of medical support, attention and advice in this area.
