My treatment was far better than I could have imagined. Everything had been explained to me before hand as to what would happen during the operation. Plus the Physio staff visited straight away & helped me to get mobilised. All the staff I met during both my 2 operations & stays couldn't have been more helpful or kind. I felt totally relaxed as only had to press the buzzer & someone would come to help me. My room was very clean & comfortable & plenty of choice with menus. Before I left the aids needed at home had been arranged & my medication ready to take with me. Again with explanations. I believe one tablet I was asked to take each day meant I didn't have to struggle with the long very tight stockings. I returned several times to Physio so they could see how I was improving. I did have one worry as the right hip leaked lots of fluid through the dressing. However, a visit to the Hospital & wound checked no infection so redressed. I could then attend a couple of times to my local surgery nurse to dress the wound.

Mr Hartwright replaced my right knee 7 years ago. I contacted him after research and excellent recommendations. 2 Weeks ago Mr Hartwright operated on my left knee and I am well on my way to recovery. Having a major operation is always a difficult thing to contemplate. However knowing that your surgeon is the best you could have is a great load of your mind. I need to add that I am 86 and never had one moments anxiety prior to the surgery.

Good rapport, totally honest, first class surgeon. When I have my next knee operation l will be more than confident for Mr Hartright to perform it.

Over the last few years I have needed to visit Winchester A and E several times and I am immensely appreciative of the care provided by the NHS. Despite the well known pressures on the system which can inevitably result in long waiting times for patients and long days for staff, staff I have been seen by were not only unfailingly courteous but cheerful. The atmosphere of an organisation depends very much on senior staff . I am very grateful to Mr Hartwright for his professional care in treating a broken ankle, with clear and helpful explanations and advice, taking full account of my particular difficulties with an underlying neuropathy.
