Hi, I was extremely lucky to have surgery on my right knee at the Nuffield private hospital in Chandlers Ford, Southampton. Why was I lucky? One, because I am a N.H.S. patient and the treatment I received was top class -- private room, good meals and an attentive and caring nursing staff - and two, because I had Mr. Bailey as my consultant surgeon. He was such a nice guy from the off , putting me at ease and explaining the procedure fully. My operation was a complete success - post-op Mr. Bailey visited me twice to make sure everything was O.K. and now he has signed me off. What impressed me most about Mr. Bailey was that there were no "airs and graces" with him - as I suspect there are with some consultants who work in the private sector . As far as making improvements to give greater care I've thought long and hard and can come up with nothing - my treatment was second to none!
