I had been referred to Mr Bailey by my GP following a number of consultations I had had with physiotherapists regarding my arthritic knee where I had been advised to wait for up to 10 more years for a knee replacement or have expensive injections.I do appreciate that physiotherapists are probably encouraged to delay or avoid operations as far as possible. However, as an active person keen on walking and cycling, I was finding it difficult to walk more than a mile or two without significant pain and could not see the sense in waiting a further 10 years for a knee replacement. Once referred to Mr Bailey, he listened carefully to my issues and offered a partial knee replacement which has proved to be extremely beneficial. I was very impressed with the way he listened to the problems I had been having and the speed with which we came to a decision on treatment and the operation was offered. Mr Bailey comes across as being very efficient and a good decision maker. He is also friendly and approachable and is genuinely interested in how you are feeling and getting on. Since the op my former very active life of walking and cycling has been restored for which I am very grateful to Mr Bailey and his staff. The treatment I have received pre and post operation from hospital staff has been first class, from the staff on the reception desk to the nurses in the ward, doctors in Mr Bailey's team who have reviewed my progress, and the X-ray team. It has been a very positive experience all round.
